18 September is a very special day, for two reasons:
. Firstly, it is my son's 19th birthday - Happy Birthday Stephen!
.
Secondly, it is World Water Monitoring Day. Monitoring water (as Moreton Bay Coastcare and Marine-Care volunteers do) is an important task - one that will help ensure healthy waterways. Healthy waterways = healthy seagrass meadows and healthy marine life.

16 to 18 SEPTEMBER is Clean Up the World Weekend.  Picking up just one piece of litter will make a positive difference to our environment.

is 'National Threatened Species Day'.

National Threatened Species Day aims to prevent further extinctions of Australia's fauna and flora and to restore healthy numbers of endangered species in the wild.

Wattle Day was first celebrated in NSW, Victoria & South Australia in 1910.

KoalaSEPTEMBER is Save the Koala Month.
The Australian Koala Foundation  (AKF) is dedicated to ensuring the survival of these iconic creatures. Donating to organisations, such as AKF, is just one of the many ways that people can help save koalas.
