Walks. Walk around the circumference of Tarradarrapin Wetlands. Time: allow one hour. Distance: 3.5 km.
Starting from the playground on Sunnybay Drive, head south until you reach Old Cleveland Road East. Walk east past the creek and turn north, up a gravel walking track. Halfway along the track the track forks - the left hand track leads to a bench, the other continues to Archer Place.
Walk a few metres along Archer Place until you reach a clearing that runs behind the houses. Heading north along this lengthy clearing (behind the houses) leads to a second playgound situated on Tulloch Drive. Koalas are regularly seen in the clump of trees immediately north of the playground.
From the playground, walk in a northerly direction until you reach the wooden Tarradarrapin Wetlands sign on Tulloch Drive. There is a small track to the left of the sign that leads down into the wetlands. A variety of birds, waterdragons and turtles can be found.
After returning to the wooden wetlands sign, walk along the footpath of Tulloch drive and turn north, up Pitt Road. Walk along the footpath of Pitt Road and turn left into Collingwood Road. From the corner of Collingwood Road continue walking past all the houses until reaching a clearing. At the clearing, turn left and follow the wide path to a large waterhole, which has a wonderful array of bird life.
Returning back to Collingwood Road, continue walking until you reach the road bridge. Note: Extreme caution must be taken when walking along Collingood road an across the bridge as there is little or no footpath and this road carries a fair amount of traffic. Please pay particular attention to young children.
After carefully crossing the bridge, turn left into Spoonbill Drive. The path then runs into Sunnybay Drive and heads back to the starting point (first children's playground). Note: the trees (from Spoonbill Drive to the end of Sunnybay Drive) often have koalas in them.
